hi , not sure if im missing something but how do i take advantage of cheap night rate electricity using the granny cable ? apart from actually going outside and plugging it in at midnight !
And, if i had a wall charger, do you just plug it in and then schedule the charge via the chargers app ?
ive heard stories of 12v batteries draining and alarms going off !!
thanks
eHybrid schedule charging
I'm looking into this as i'll be using the granny charger.
I've read on another forum that one person is using a smart plug - but i don't think i'd recommend that due to possible overheating.
Also some of the wall chargers aren't currently compatible with the new Tiguan.

On order: R Line 1.5 eHybrid
I’ve read conflicting information about this.
On a German Site I’ve read this is not currently available
But I’ve also read that once you have saved a known location it works as mentioned in the manual.
Currently waiting to pick up a PHEV so keen know which is correct.
Currently drive a PHEV Seat Leon and would be amazed to see scheduled charging disappear.

There is a large thread already on the forum regarding this.
It is currently not possible to set a schedule to charge the car.
The issue has been raised with VW many times and ‘apparently’ there is a software update coming at some point in the next few weeks to give us this option.
It’s just a matter of waiting to see what happens.
