After all the lane assist and associated warnings, dead battery, crackling speakers , lethargic passenger squeaky mirror, erratic brakes my air bag light has come on today.
4k miles and already been back to main dealer 3 times.
I now regularly reset the 5 lane assist errors by turning the steering wheel full lock both ways. ABSOLUTELY HATE THE THING 1.5etsi Elegance-truly at wits end VW hang your heads in shame

That is very disappointing news! I can well understand your disenchantment?
When did you take delivery of the car?
Touch wood I have not had the scale of problems you report, but given reports by some, on this forum, who have experienced such problems and have received, so called, remedial updates only to find that the problems return a very short while after, faith in VW is understandably waning!
My car has been off the road for over 3 weeks now and that is bad enough! The fact that nobody can tell me when the required replacement part will be available is even worse, in my view!
I really can’t understand how VW have got into such a pickle!!

I collected in May 24.
Todays “new thing “ is passenger heated seat is intermittent 🤷🏻‍♂️

I collected mine 28 June 24. It had done 3k miles from new when the airbag errors started 24/25th October.

Rang VW Assist regarding my air bag light. I knew I couldn’t get through to my local main dealer so I figured they may be able to help me out.
Car gets plugged into the diagnostic lap top and the very helpful technician laughs and says the car thinks there is a 3rd row of seats ! Reprogrammed and light has been extinguished! The regular Battery drain seems to throw up these issues.
He tells me this is the 3rd new Tiguan he has worked on today- all with similar issues.
He tells me software updates are available - the dealer told me as soon as they were available I was going to be informed 😂😂
4th visit back to dealer now booked in
6 months old 4400 miles …..

Well that’s a new twist on the airbag light! Was it an amber light or red? I shall mention that one to my dealer.
My Tiggy has been at the dealership now since 28 October! Last time it move was 05 November, when presumably it was moved into the workshop for diagnostic work.
On 06 November I got a call to say the required part was on back order for at least 3 weeks! 3 weeks is up tomorrow .
I emailed a formal complaint to VW Customer Service, around 12 November. Don’t know why I bothered because they simply told me what I already knew - the part is on back order! When I asked what they proposed to do to try to help me I was told that they have no way to influence the matter but they have since phoned me ……..to say the part is still on back order!! VERY HELPFUL INDEED!!!
I am told I will get another call when the 3 weeks is up. VW Customer Service clearly don’t understand what Customer Service means! I have news for them …..it isn’t just about phoning me up to tell me what I already know! It’s about taking some tangible action to to try to resolve the issue!
My car will be 6 months old on 28 December so I need to find out about my rights when paying PCP for a car which is clearly not fit for purpose or available to me! Hope it doesn’t come to that but I may have to try to find a way to reject the car if they don’t get it fixed shortly!
So disappointing because it’s a nice car when I can drive it!

It was an amber light.
It needs this “revolutionary, all resolving” software update
I was told the dealer would phone me today to confirm me taking the car back to them tomorrow.
They didn’t phone
I phoned them at 545pm only to be told they have nothing booked in via VW Assist. Apparently if vw assist refer a car to be repaired the dealer has to honour the request.
I literally at my wits end
I also took a pcp but not entirely sure what that affords me regarding rejection. I share your mixed sentiment however.

Best heater will only come on if it detects a person in the seat. Intermittent behaviour could indicate a faulty seat sensor
