ERROR AIRBAG
Hope you get better luck than me!
I emailed VWFS & VWCS on 20 December saying fix now or take this as notice I reject.
Got an immediate automated acknowledgement email promising response in 2 working days.
I’M STILL WAITING FOR THAT RESPONSE!!
Two days ago VWCS rang me with the usual useless 3-4 weekly “token being seen to care hand holding/but do nothing” exercise. During the call the Customer Care Rep, incredulously, asked “ME” if “I” had any news about progress on ETA of spare part required to get my car back on the road!!
It also transpired that the Rep. had absolutely no knowledge of my email dated 20 December in which I gave notice of wish to reject!
ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!!!

VWCS and VWFS are completely separate entities and whilst both are ultimately owned by VW I suspect there is very little, if any, communication between the 2. I believe that to reject the car you need to communicate with the supplying dealer - your contract to purchase the vehicle is with them - and, if on finance, the finance provider - in the case VWFS - who have partial ownership of the car. You also need to be within 6 months of the delivery of the car. Rejection is no longer an option for me as I have owned (not possessed!) the car for 8 months now. You should also send any communication of this nature by recorded delivery rather than email.Bertieb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 8:21 pmHope you get better luck than me!

Well it’s too late for recorded delivery as the car was 6 months old on 28 December 24. However, I did email rejection intention to both Dealer and VWFS, well before that date and I have automated email notification of receipt from both. In VWFS case the notification promised an endeavour to respond within 2 working days!!
On Friday I again emailed both asking for a formal response…..again I have automated email notification from both… but so far nothing else!
Beggars belief!!!

I called VWFS this afternoon and was told they have up to 8 weeks from the date of the complaint to appoint a case worker and respond. So I need to wait until mid Feb before they will do anything for meBertieb wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 8:21 pmHope you get better luck than me!

Well I got an email from the UK VW Executive Office, a day or so ago, and then a call yesterday telling me my case has been elevated to the highest possible level!
Fact is that the ETA for replacement part has slipped again to 04 February!
Following assurances that everything possible was being done, I was advised to send a follow-up email to VWFS pressing for progress on my complaint/rejection sent 20 December, to which I have still not yet received the promised response within 2 working days! Interestingly, I did send a progress email on 10 January but they have also failed to respond to that!!!

I know it is little comfort, but I am just off to go and collect my car now it has been repaired. Seems the camera control model arrived earlier this week. Fingers crossed the new software has addressed all (well let's be realistic and say most of the issues that have been present since day 1
Good luck! Be interesting to know how the car turns out after software update.elan2s wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:27 am I know it is little comfort, but I am just off to go and collect my car now it has been repaired. It seems that the VW Executive Office must have stirred something up as amazingly, late yesterday, I finally got a response from VWFS to my email sent 20 December!
It didn’t tell me anything, other than how sorry they are, how important I am, how they’re moving heaven & earth, how they’re not yet able to give me an answer, and how I can now refer to the Ombudsman …….but still no replacement part!!!

I’ve given up with my car and have instigated rejection.
VW customer service is hopeless- no help whatsoever Would I be made to consider swapping for another ?
