Infotainment / Android Auto/ Mobile Phone Issue

I've had a problem with my new Tiguan 1.5 etsi Tiguan which has existed since new, in June 2024. I use Android Auto to make calls, via the infotainment screen. Sometime the phone is wired via USB and sometimes wireless. Every time I make the first call on a particular drive. the ring tone is distorted and the recipient of the call sounds like a dalek. I have always had to cancel the call and redial. It is only ever the first call and it is fine thereafter. I have a Google pixel 7.

Anyone else experienced this?
