Hub rust…..

3.5 weeks old and 1200 miles - rusting hubs, normal?

It's unfortunate, but normal....

My car's the same, my previous cars from VW and other manufacturers went the same way.

I've attacked my hubs with some wire wool and used hammerite smooth silver because it looked bad.

What makes it worse is winter salt, wheel cleaning sprays etc etc.

This is a true story . Please do not try this.
my bother in-law had the same issue on a mk2 Tiguan 23 plate with 3k mileage and He thought it would be ok to spray WD40 on them to stop it rusting. He then could not work out why the brakes were not any good and the car only just stopped. When his wife told my wife what he did I could not believe he was so stupid to do it

My other cars have been pretty rust almost from day one, the Tiguan seems to have held up better and I don't have rust yet, I was pleasantly surprised.
