I also got confirmation from the dealer in my country that for the 1.5 eTSI engines, the current waiting time is around 8 months, apparently because of some engine parts shortage.

I asked my dealer (Sinclair VW Cardiff) about this specifically last week, citing some of the posts here about possible delays.
He basically said to ignore anything I read in the forums, but interestingly he didn’t outright say there wasn’t an issue. As far as I'm aware, my car which was ordered end of August is due sometime in December - although I’ve just asked him to alter the order slightly so that might go out of the window.
Anyway, if I hear different I’ll post back here.

However VW marketing have set the list price for that combination at £40020 ie £20 over the £40k threshold so the road tax for the next 5 years (years 2-6) will be £600 per year !! Makes metallic paint look expensive.. I went for the Match instead which was under the £40k.

The P11D price, which is what determines the road tax, for an Exclusive with Metallic is actually £39,705. That said I bought a Match as the larger wheels, massage seats and area view were not things I really wanted/needed.

Yes, got my Elegance, back in June, for just under £40k.

Hi all looking at ordering a R line plug in 272 in Nightshade blue the dealers is saying a factory orders are taking around 3-4 months does this sound about right?
How long have your cars taken to come from the factory?

In the signature they have been putting in what they have orderd and then date it was orderd and then delivery date given and then delivery date
Which would be great for some one like me to give an idea of delivery date?

Picked up Tig R Line in Nightshade Blue with Blackpack last Thursday, was in stock and just went to dealer on speck, Actually wanted to trade my standard Grey R line for a Black one but came away with a Night Shade Blue, only had to wait a couple of days. No issues
