Johnny that’s really useful information, thank you for sharing it.
My car is going into the dealers on Tuesday, I’ll make sure they see this!
The car is great when it works, all I want is a working Tiguan at this point!
Front/Side/Lane/Sign assist error after one week
Hello fellow tiguan owners from Greece. I am George, almost happy owner Tiguan R line.
I bought the car on the first of July. A few days later I received a notification for an update, which I did. After a rain, (5 August) I start the engine and the errors came up for me too. Contacted authorized dealer and they said it's a known issue, however they can't do anything. I'll have to wait and not worry. they also told me that there is a chance that engine won't start, but don't worry. Wait half an hour and try again. And then we call Italian cars unreliable....
Regards ,
George

You can turn it off within the privacy settings but it also limits other functionality182_blue wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 8:07 pmAre you UK based?, didn't know the car sent info to VW?R.J.O. wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 5:02 pm I've now had the sudden array of faults flash up (2.0TDi R line, 2 months old now). Strangely happened after it rained... there are reports of it happening after washing the car, so maybe there's a link.... who knows; they all cleared after it dried up....
Anyway, I then get an email from the dealers as the car has reported said faults to them by itself, they want me to book it in to see what the fault is.
I've said it's a common fault, alongside the non-dipping passenger side mirror and I'll bring it in when they have a solution... it's pointless right now...
Wonder when that may happen....

I am having this same issues with my less than 5 month old 1.5 eTSI r-line for me though it started as an intermittent error however is now permanent. I have the car booked in with the garage on the 10th September which I booked in two weeks ago (the soonest they could do was more than a month out!).
I am now battling with VW to get it booked in sooner, they appear to have a “computer says no” attitude to resolving my issues, to say I am annoyed is the understatement at the century.

Hi all,
I had the same issue.
Only had the rline Tiguan 3 weeks.
I have got a booking with VW but it’s weeks away.
Yesterday I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes.
Reconnected the battery.
Started the engine.
Same lights came on.
Started the engine fully.
Then turned off and left the car over night.
In the morning all the lights had gone and assist functions now working.

I have been told that the software update will be available at the dealership on Monday the 9th. I have left my car with them and now have the demonstrator until the update is applied and a number of other issues are looked at, these being:
1. Intermittent Crackling from Front Speaker: I have noticed a recurring crackle coming from the front speaker. This issue appears intermittently.
2. Squeaking and Malfunctioning Door Mirrors: The door mirrors squeak when folding, especially when the car is wet or after it has rained. It is the same one the demonstrator car. On a few occasions, they have failed to fold when locking the car.
3. Apple CarPlay and Wireless Charging Issues: Apple CarPlay has been randomly disconnecting, and the wireless charging feature also stops working intermittently, although these issues do not occur simultaneously.
4. Intermittent Climate Screen Issue: There is an intermittent problem where the climate screen shows grey instead of the usual blue (cold) or red (warm),
5. Emergency Braking System Over-sensitivity: The most alarming issue is the over-sensitivity of the emergency braking system. On several occasions, it has engaged hard braking when no vehicle was in front of me, seemingly detecting parked cars as obstacles. There is a specific road where this happens every time I drive down it, forcing me to avoid that route altogether.

Also apple CarPlay randomly disconnects but it does reconnect within about 5 secs. I don’t use wireless charging as ive found the phone gets too hot for my liking.
Car has already been in for the front and side sensors issues, was told to wait for the software update.
A different issue i have is with the driver heated seat. When switched on by pressing the screen button it will only stay on for around 1-2 minutes, and then switches off. You can’t turn it back on again until the car has restarted. The passenger seat works perfectly.
What is strange though is when it is cold enough and the car itself turns on the heated steering and seat at startup, it stays on for a good while. It’s only when ‘manually’ turned on that has issue.
Makes me think it’s a control software or sensor issue.
Booked in for the 18th even hopefully the new software is available also.
I had an issue with a squeaking mirror a month ago. The noise comes from the rubber between the mirror housing and the other part to which it is attached. I have lubed it with a silicone grease which made the sound even worse at first, but after a couple of days the squeaking has gone completely and never returned.
